My wife and I are the sole operators of everything Mike Hiatt Media! We always have two shooters at weddings to ensure we don’t miss a thing. We are growing and we LOVE it! We started doing weddings in 2014 when a friend asked if we could make a video for their big day, we said hey why not, sounds fun! We have been hooked ever since. We love all things wedding!

Our first “official” year as a business we were actually planning our own wedding, so you can imagine how wedding-filled that year was. It makes it easier for us to communicate with the bride and groom because we have been in their shoes and remember what the day was like! We try to keep our style as natural as possible, we use stabilizers, which allow us to walk around with ease and keep everything stable in our shot, it helps the people who are watching feel like they are at your wedding!

I have been in Central Oregon for about 7 years now and I love everything about it! I get up to the mountain as much as I can and all of the snow this year has been amazing! The mountains make for an amazing back drop and the sunsets are unreal. Doing video here in Central Oregon is simply stunning. There is never a bad view and we have some of the best venues in Oregon. Don’t get me wrong, we love to travel, so if you get married in the valley (or let’s say Hawaii or the Caribbean) we would LOVE to tag along 😉

I am also a certified drone pilot through the FAA. We truly believe that having the aerial footage as apart of your big day gives a different view (literally) and makes it possible for you to see all the surroundings of Central Oregon and your venue that most people would look past. Yes, you are getting married at an INCREDIBLE Central Oregon venue, and yes, the sunset you just saw was the prettiest thing you have ever seen, but when we toss in an aerial shot of all your friends and families celebrating your love, marriage and commitment to each other, and pan around from the mountains to the whole setting, it takes your breath away.

How in the world did we get so lucky?! We strive to never make it feel like we are meant to be there, we love getting to know the bride and groom so it feels like we are a couple of goofy friends celebrating their love! We will get down and dance with you and your friends for the after party and capture everything up close and personal.

We can’t tell you how many times (seriously, so many) we talk to a bride or groom, and within the first two sentences they are telling us “Oh our friends got married last year didn’t get a videographer and they were so upset they didn’t!”. Just do it! Photo and video are something that you can enjoy for the rest of your lives, and when we hear couples say “Oh my gosh I can’t stop watching this video, I cry everytime!” it makes us realize EVERYONE needs video. How else are you supposed to be at every square inch of your wedding at once? You can’t! That’s why you hire us!

We put heart and soul into all of our videos. All the songs are hand picked for every couple, hours are spent watching all the footage, smiles are had while editing because, holy cow, this was such an amazing wedding! And yes, Jess gets teary-eyed at every ceremony. We truly want to get to know you and LOVE helping to capture your day. One of our favorite parts about being in the wedding business is all of the amazing couples, and being able to keep in touch after the wedding!
